The Scholastic Inspectorate of Brasov county organized at the end of February, ?The Educational Projects Exhibition ? 2007?, an event meant to gather schools from Brasov and surroundings. The audience appreciated the children? involvement in projects financed by the Program of grants for the scholastic development, with the support of the Romanian Government, the World Bank and the rural communities (2003-2009).
Intercultural Education
The projects aimed to improve the access to a quality education through the opening of the school towards the community. According to Stefan Aranyosi, president of Culture Commission within the county council, ?the goal was the promotion of the intercultural education and multicultural values in school and community, the redefinition of the place and role of the gipsy community and the increase of the development degree of the parents and the community in education.
Tolerant and friendly School
The pupils of the schools in Brasov also participated in international projects along with schools from Poland, Greece, France, Italy and England with remarkable results. Thank to its involvement in promoting social and cultural values in the communitarian life, the School no. 7 of Braşov is now an opened, friendly, tolerant and democratic institution. The mayor of Brasov, George Scripcaru, expressed his intention to support the educational activity.
No Gap between Rural and Urban
The pupils of rural environment are the living proof that the gap between rural and urban environment became today almost inexistent. The children have been involved in intercultural programs, attracted partners, reached remarkable results and made a convincing presentation through brochures, flyers, other promotional material, including video projection. They also prepared a folkloric program, gathering Magyar, German and gypsies? dancers who performed dances specific to the native area
The Special School Victoria presented the project ?Let?s save the handicapped children?, special program with a powerful message: dishabilitated children have equal abilities and opportunities.
