The British investor Stuart M. Meikle was recently appointed Honorary Consul of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Brasov. The event was attended by His Excellence Robin Burnett, the United Kingdom ambassador in Bucarest.
Counselling Citizens and Investors
According to Brasov Mayor George Scripcaru, the appointment ceremony ?is an important message showing the propinquity between Great Britain and Brasov County, but also the other surrounding counties that could take profit by the newly constituted Consulate. The office will assist and counsel the British citizens facing problems with their documents in Romania?. Stuart Meikle, the Honorary Consul, also showed his availability to counsel the businessmen willing to invest here and to facilitate the relationships between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Brasov and other institutions.
Brasov was preferred to host the first United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland?s Consulate thanks to the 39 British companies functioning here, which number is increasing.
Buffalo Cow Farm
Stuart M. Meikle has been since 2002 the president of the ?Produse Naturale Transylvania? Company, which acquired the Meshendorf-based former state farm. It became the first and largest buffalo cow farm ? population 450 - in the county, a pilot project complying with the EU?s standards. Meikle came in Romania three years ago; he married a Romanian and he?s father of two. The Honorary Consul is Head of the Graduating Class at the Wye College in London, earned a university degree in Agricultural Management and is a reputed expert in his field.
