On January 24, Romanian celebrate the Union of the Romanian Principalities occurred in 1859 by the election of Alexandru Ioan Cuza as prince of Moldavia and Valacchia. To mark the event, the students of the local faculties use to march from ?Memorandului? Complex towards Piata Sfatului, where they dance the Union?s Round. The procession is opened by the brass band of ?Henri Coanda? Air Force Academy; the students, wearing national cloths, wave the national flags and invite everybody to join them to dance the Union?s Round.

The Cultural Centre ?Reduta? organized the folkloric show ?Let?s join our hands?, dedicated to January 24 ? the Day of the Romanian Principalities? Union. The show was attended by various folkloric bands as ?Junii Brasovului?, ?Bokreta?, ?Korona?, ?Poienita?, ?Sipot Ardelean?, while other famous local bands accompanied the vocalists.
Multicultural Mark
At the round started in Piata Sfatului, in the old centre of Brasov, the various ethnics living in Brasov joined the Romanian inhabitants, as a multicultural mark of the Romanian Principalities? Union. German and Magyar folkloric bands also participated at the show hosted by Reduta.
