The 7th edition of the Romanian Festival from Nurnberg, organised by the Association Romanima from Germany, thrilled the Romanians who live far away from home, but also those who were part of the imposing delegation from Romania. Ever since the very first moment the festival was opened, the heart of Romanians beat at the same time, touched by the Romanian folk songs, by the traditional dances from Fagaras, by the beauty of the Romanian folk costumes and by the great recitals of Stela Popescu, the Comic Opera for Children Bucharest and band Compact.
The people from Fagaras brought tears into Romanians' eyes
The delegation from Brasov was made up of representatives of the County Council Brasov and of the Town Hall from Fagaras, next to folk groups from Brasov county and vocalists. The songs interpreted by vocalists Mioara Marinca and Mihaela Catalui awoke memories in the souls of the Romanians living in Nurnberg. The homesickness was amplified by the lyrics of the folk songs and the dances; the Romanian folk costumes reminded them of childhood. The artists were frantically applauded and many of the Romanians who live far away from their homes wanted to buy CD's with the artists' music.
The folk groups performed artistic moments from Tara Fagarasului, danced Ficioreasca and presented fragments from weddings in that area.
