The heart of Romanians beat at the same time in Nurnberg

The 7th edition of the Romanian Festival from Nurnberg, organised by the Association Romanima from Germany, thrilled the Romanians who live far away from home, but also those who were part of the imposing delegation from Romania. Ever since the very first moment the festival was opened, the heart of Romanians beat at the same time, touched by the Romanian folk songs, by the traditional dances from Fagaras, by the beauty of the Romanian folk costumes and by the great recitals of Stela Popescu, the Comic Opera for Children Bucharest and band Compact.

The people from Fagaras brought tears into Romanians' eyes

The delegation from Brasov was made up of representatives of the County Council Brasov and of the Town Hall from Fagaras, next to folk groups from Brasov county and vocalists. The songs interpreted by vocalists Mioara Marinca and Mihaela Catalui awoke memories in the souls of the Romanians living in Nurnberg. The homesickness was amplified by the lyrics of the folk songs and the dances; the Romanian folk costumes reminded them of childhood. The artists were frantically applauded and many of the Romanians who live far away from their homes wanted to buy CD's with the artists' music.
The folk groups performed artistic moments from Tara Fagarasului, danced Ficioreasca and presented fragments from weddings in that area.

The Romanian delegation received by the German officials

The delegation from Brasov was received by the Mayor from Bayroth, who showed his interest in collaborating with the County of Brasov, especially with town Fagaras. The President of the County Council Brasov, Aristotel Cancescu, invited the Mayor from Bayroth in our town. He accepted the invitation and said that he would pay a visit to Brasov in September. Also, the delegation from Brasov was welcomed by the responsible person for External Relations from Nurnberg Town Hall. There were mutual discussions in view of extending the partnership and including new touristic columns in the common program, including some journalists from Germany to pay a visit in Braşov county. After that TV shows will be done which shall be broadcasted on the German TV stations.

Visiting Deaconry Neuendettelsau

Hermann Schoenauer, the rector of the Deaconry Neuendettelsau, invited the Romanian officials to pay a visit to one of Deaconry's hospitals. The services for the elder, for the persons with handicap, those with dementia, more and more frequent within the third age patients were presented. Both parties exchanged information and the German party showed its availability to continue the collaboration in the field of public health. Christian Macedonschi, the president of the Association for the Promotion and Development of Tourism Brasov, offered Romanian traditional products to the German officials, lobbied for Brasov county and invited the German party participate in the Tournament of Citadels, organized on the occasion of 8000 years of German presence of the Teutonic knights in our area and at Oktoberfest feast.
