The Transylvanian Hotel Conference

The County Council Brasov and the Association for Tourism Promotion and Development (APDT) will organize the third edition of the Transylvanian Hotel and Tourism Conference in Brasov in June 2011. Each year this event gathers famous persons from the political spectrum and hospitality industry in Romania and many other persons. Last year, for instance, besides hotel chains managers, Dominic de Habsburg and the two princesses honoured us by attending this event. German and Austrian speakers presented us ideas about the tourism field.
Medieval Atmosphere
"This year we celebrate 800 years from the arrival of the Teutonic Knights in Transylvania. For this reasons, the medieval atmosphere will be revived at this event, as mentioned in the Conference agenda. The chosen location will be the Medieval Fortress Brasov. A medieval square with knights, fire shows and craftsmen working in the presence of audience will be organized here. We wish that this event dedicated to the tourism field would mean more than speeches and projections," said Mr. Christian Macedonschi, President of APDT Brasov.
Mobile Cooking Show
Display stands will be installed at the Conference for the companies that wish to exhibit their goods to more than 150 persons. The participants represent hotel chains and restaurants, boarding houses from Transylvania region and Bucharest. A "Mobile Cooking Show" will be organized - cooking in special locations and guests will be served from medieval specific dishware.
Performance and Quality
Mr. Christian Macedonschi said that by organizing this event it was intended to bring to Romania and to Brasov rich experienced persons that would help tour operators and Romanian cuisine to improve their services. The reason is that internal and international tourism requirements and expectations are becoming more and more demanding.
