The Treasures in the Steeples

The Foundation UMANA from Brasov has implemented the "Treasures in the Steeples" project in partnership with the Agency for Sustainable Development of Brasov county by a non-refundable financing of the Regional Operational Program (ROP) 2007-2013. The purpose is to raise Romania's attractiveness as a tourist destination. The general goal of the project is to develop and strengthen the tourism in Brasov county by promoting tourist products.
Specific Goals
The specific goals include: promotion of a cultural itinerary that would include the churches mentioned in the "Treasures in the Steeples" project, linking Brasov to Sighisora: Brasov, Sacele, Tarlungeni, Budila, Prejmer, Harman, Sanpetru, Bod, Halchiu, Feldioara, Maierus, Apata, Hoghiz, Homorod, Cata, Rupea, Fiser, Bunesti, Crit, Dacia Jibert Lovnic Valeni, Granari, Daisoara and Crihalma, a medieval festival called "The Steeples' Guardians", the Promotion Caravan, drafting some data bases with information for tourists about the stories of the steeples, the condition of pipe and bag organs, indoor and outdoor staircases and balconies, the condition of bells and their history, the machine room from the clock tower, the clocks within the steeples, as well as the top of the steeple and its architecture.
Unforgettable Cultural Experiences in the Heart of Transylvania
"Unforgettable Cultural Experiences in the Heart of Transylvania" was another project carried out within the framework of the Regional Operational Program (ROP), the Management Authority - the Ministry of Regional Development and Tourism, by the Agency for Sustainable Development of Brasov County (ADDJB) in partnership with the Association for Tourism Promotion and Development (APDT). The purpose is to raise Romania's attractiveness as a tourist destination. "We wish to make the cultural tourism in Brasov county famous and our ambition is to promote this important triangle located in the heart of Transylvania: Brasov - Sighisoara - Sibiu," said Mr. Mihai Pascu, President of ADDJB.
Main Activities
The main activities of the "Unforgettable Cultural Experiences in the Heart of Transylvania" project focus on the promotion of the monasteries from Tara Fagarasului region, the fortified churches from Tara Barsei and Tara Rupei regions, the castles and fortresses from Brasov county and the promotion of folklore and folk art in Tara Barsei, Tara Rupei and Tara Fagarasului regions.
Both projects - the "Treasures in the Steeples" of Foundation Humana and "Unforgettable Cultural Experiences in the Heart of Transylvania" of ADDJB, will benefit from internet marketing.
