Predeal town-resort is the Romanian settlement located at the highest altitude in the country ? 1030 m to 1110 meters. It is a mountain resort internationally reputed for being the ideal spot for recreation, recovery and winter sports. There are over 5200 accommodation rooms in hotels, villas, cottages and camping. The resort has eight ski slopes with various degrees of difficulty.
Military Recognition
As mayor Ionel Goidescu stated, local authorities continue the projects meant to improve conditions to practice the winter sports and extend the ski area. The status of Predeal as mountain ski resort has been officially recognized by the organization of the 47th edition of the World Military Ski Championship, on 20-26 February 2005, by the International Council of Military Sport, the Ministry of National Defense and Predeal town hall, among other national and international competitions.
Large sunny Slopes
Predeal is best known for its large sunny ski slopes; if there is not natural snow, modern facilities can produce artificial one. Si slopes cover an area larger than 50 square kilometers; the length of the nine slopes exceed 10 km. During the winter season, Predeal is assailed by Romanian and foreign tourists, who come here to spend unforgettable vacations. Tourists also can enjoy snowboard, biathlon and patrol on Clabucet and Valea Rasnoavei slopes.
