Muresenilor' House was renewed and reopened to the public and tourists wiling to know the memorable history of the archives of Muresenilor. Muresenilor' House was established in 1968, as a donation made by the inheritors of Muresianu family. By doing so, they fulfilled the cultural will of Iacob Muresianu, offering to the state a very valuable collection of furniture, paintings, sculptures and an inestimable archive, containing over 25.000 documents. The museum is dedicated to the memory of several members of these family with huge accomplishments in the political and cultural life of their times.
The richest archive of its kind
The Muresenilor archive is one of the richest of its kind. As directors of the newspaper "Gazeta Transilvaniei" for more than half a century, they have written to all the political leaders of their time from all the regions inhabited by the Romanians. The archive also contains documents attesting the history of the National Anthem "Desteapta-te, Romane!", an immortal creation of Andrei Muresianu. The museum will become in the future a complex of memorial houses dedicated to the memory of some great personalities of Brasov. June 24 marked the opening of "Stefan Baciu" House, as a tribute to the memory of the greatest poet of Brasov.
