Spanish investors of Catalonia region are the authors of the biggest investment in Brasov county. The recent inauguration of the Industrial Park Prejmer was attended by the county's authorities and a prestigious Spanish delegation. The Iberian team was directed by Josep Huguet, minister of Innovation, Universities and Enterprises in the Regional Government of Catalonia, and included various managers and investors of the Catalan area.
Absorbtion of the labour force
According to the president of the County Council, Aristotel Cancescu, the investment of the Industrial Park Prejmer reached 300 millions euro and will ensure jobs for 10.000 employees. "Through this investment, a considerable part of the county's fired labour force will be absorbed. The collaboration with the Spanish partner is extremely profitable, because they have a huge experience in big investments and accessing EU founds. There also are a lot of Spanish businessmen willing to invest in residential neighbourhood too".
Prejmer, un attractive Location
The mayor of Prejmer, Todorica Serban, is impressed by the Spanish interest for Roumania and considers that the investment make Prejmer a location more and more attractive for the businessmen. "The Catalan-Spanish-Romanian project is a proof that the Romanian workers are appreciated in Occident".
The Spanish Model
Juan Pablo Berdoy, the ambassador of the Spain Kingdom in Romania, alluded to the steps followed by Spain 30 years ago. "It's an important investment and a sophisticated development model that can change the Romanian society and economy". The Industrial Park will be extended on 869.900 square meters. The roads and the infrastructure occupy 122.303 sm. There are 3 entrances from the National Road 10 to this location 15 km distant from Brasov.
