The French Channel of the Roads

The County Council?s president, Aristotel Cancescu, recently signed the contract regarding the roads? rehabilitation works with the representatives of the French company Colas and its partner, Surocam. The funds amounting 16 million euro are ensured through a BERD loan. The action has been started last year, when CC Braşov contracted a 15 million euro credit from the international bank.
World Operators
Colas Company, one of the world?s leaders in the road?s constructions field, has started its activity in Romania since 1992. The construction of a section of ?The Sun?s Highway? was among the important projects unfolded by the French company.
Quesson Emmanuel, director of Colas Romania, showed himself delighted by the collaboration to be initiated with the CC Brasov. The company will also ensure for three years the maintenance of the capital roads and for four years other traffic connections.
Considerable Investments
CC president Cancescu reminded that Brasov is the first county of Romania in accessing EU funds to realize investments in infrastructure. Apa Company is an example of remarkable investments using ISPA and BERD funds.
Roads as in the UE
?The UE delegation highly appreciated the application in Brasov, considered as the best in Romania. We intend to use the money in order to realize our roads at European quality standards? Cancescu stated.
A new credit of 15 million euro is about to be contracted with Eximbank, for the same roads? rehabilitation field.
