The city of Zarnesti, located at the foot of the well-known National Park Piatra Craiului, is also famous for its historical patrimony. In order to promote those inestimable values, the Municipality of Zarnesti organized the ?Zarnesti?s Days?, within August 19th-20th. The event was closed by the 28th edition of the Folkloric Festival ?Edelweiss?.
Edelweiss and young Flowers
According to mayor Gheorghe Lupu, the feast ?Zarnesti?s Days? is at its second edition; the idea to join the youth days with the folkloric manifestation made possible a unique feast, which included the Folkloric Festival ?Edelweiss? and modern music, performed by various modish bands. It also was an opportunity to promote the young talents from the whole county.
Centennial Dance
On a special stage setup at the local stadium ?Health? took place a parade of a Romanian popular costume, performed by the folkloric bands gathered from all over the country. The audience was delighted by the marvellous show.
Among the manifestation, a hall dance called ?Romana?, performed by the homonym women band from Rasnov highly distinguished. The dance origin dates back to more than 100 years ago; the clothes artistically sewn are conserved across the generations. The band?s members are only elder women.
Invitation in Zarnesti
The mayor intends to improve every year the feast ?Zarnesti?s Days?, in order to attract more and more tourists. ?We are decided the get known our patrimony and values in the world. We hope our offer will persuade the visitors to come back the next year?
