Expozitii Calatoare S.R.L., have developed the project “The School Museum – Sohodol” at the Grammar School in Sohodol, an interactive exhibition. The project was implemented during May-September 2019 and it was co-funded by the National Cultural Patrimony Administration.
Museum Setting
Following specific research and documentation activities regarding the cultural patrimony of the community in Sohodol, Bran Locality, Brasov County, a museum setting has been established, having as main themes: ethnography, local traditions and customs, the local community. The concept of the exhibition includes an interactive component, through the presence of eight items that were used ti process, in the past: vertical and horizontal weaving loom, winder, bundle and skewer, spool, reeling device and reel.
Replicas of the Ethnographic Items
Cristina Seitz, project manager, stated: “The replicas of the ethnographic items help organize educational activities dedicated to direct beneficiaries, children and young people, who will find out how to use them and thus preserve local traditions. A number of educational and interactive activities are planned as part of the exhibition. Within the school, this museum is a place young people and children can go to and learn how to use these functional items, which are no longer present in people’s homes”.
