The Hungarian community organized the ?Hungarian Days in Brasov County - 2016?, a large-scale event for promoting the Hungarian customs and traditions. For almost three weeks, in Brasov were organized concerts, traditional dancing shows, exhibits and gulyás cooking competitions.
At Reduta Cultural Centre from Brasov, the memorial plate of Reiff István was inaugurated and at the Urban Civilization Museum of Brasov was organized the Brassói Magyar Dalárda 150 éves ? the Mixed Hungarian Choir from Brasov at 150 years exhibit, being considered the most significant event of the Hungarian community.
The emblematic choir
Nádudvary György, Vice-President of the choir, declared: ?The Museum of Urban Civilization of Brasov hosted, for almost three months, the Brassói Magyar Dalárda 150 éves - the Mixed Hungarian Choir from Brasov at 150 years exhibit, which is emblematic for the Hungarian community. The exhibit points out the activity of the ?Mixed Hungarian Choir from Brasov?, ever since its establishment in 1863 to present days, and underlines the cultural identity of the Hungarian community from Brasov. Organizers presented the history, the ?life? of this mixed choir, that gathered music figures, meant creativity and performance as well, offered across time the joy of reaching significant success together.?
Officials and representatives of the Hungarian community of Brasov attended the Reduta Cultural Centre from Brasov in order to assist the inauguration of Reiff István memorial plate, who was a choreographer and promoter of the Hungarian traditional culture in Ţara Bârsei region. Another exceptional cultural moment was the concert of ?Brassói Magyar Dalárda? and of other invited choirs. All the cultural events organized on the occasion of the ?Hungarian Days in Brasov County ? 2016? underlined the concept of solidarity, the cultural, educational and religious assets representing the common fundamentals for the Hungarians located in different regions of the country.
