Educational program
In Harman locality, Brasov County, a fundamental educational program for pipe organ builders and restorers has been developing ever since 2003, aimed at bringing back to life the pipe organ builders? trade and making the reconditioning of the 1500 pipe organs in the country possible. "After 10 years of professional development, the Romanian Foundation for Professional Training (FPPR) in partnership with Schweizerische Stiftung für Orgeln in Rumänien (SSOR) seeks to develop and reinforce partnership in the field of professional training for pipe organ building", said Mrs. Barbara Dutli, the Project Manager.
Specific goals
This project sets out three specific goals in order to reach its purpose: 1. Developing an innovative "master class" training program for five pipe organ restoring apprentices, 2. Improving the entrepreneurial competences of three apprentices by means of an integrated advice and training program, 3. Building the organisational development strategy for the Romanian Foundation for Professional Training (FPPR).
The sound of the pipe organs, resuscitated
"We would like to thank those who have dedicated themselves for 10 years to bring back the sound of the pipe organs, after their song has been paralyzed for years. This is about a tradition revitalized thanks to the Swiss people. By sacrificing their time and money, they made a dream come true: reawakening the harmonious sounds of the pipe organs. For us, the people living in Harman, this school means a lot, as future generations will have a legacy and professionals able to carry on the pipe organ builder`s trade", said Mr. Mihai Disor, the Mayor of Harman commune.
