In Sanpetru, Brasov County, events are being organized to promote the tourist potential of the area, in which people of several generations are involved. The purpose is to carry on the customs and traditions practiced over time by the Romanians and the Transylvanian Saxons that used to live here. Apart from these events, the cultural agenda also includes activities promoting young talents, for whom shows, workshops, contests and entertainment moments are put on stage, all included in a festival that has already become a tradition, the Festival ?A smile on children?s faces?.
Children`s Party
?The Festival `A Smile on Children?s Faces? reached its 4th edition and continues a project made from European funding. For the past couple of years, the festival has been organized from our own funds. This year, we thought we should organize a party for the children, aimed at bringing something new as compared to the previous editions and offer some music and games fit for the age of children who want to participate, as well as an entertainment programme. This entire programme was carefully elaborated by an experienced team and adjusted for children of different ages. We are very pleased to see that we have succeeded to offer valuable moments to those children, which will remain forever in their memory?, said Mr. Ion Rusu, Mayor of Sanpetru.
The Magic of a Dream
The organizers thought of organizing a dreamlike party for the children in Sanpetru, as most of them cannot afford going to a children?s club where they can meet cartoon characters or fairy tale heroes. For that reason, the fairies and the cartoon characters were brought to the elementary and middle school in Sanpetru, where they started a real party. The children crowded to hug the characters, who offered them many emotional, enchanting and colourful moments, and brought them the magic of a dreamlike party. The kids from the kindergarten in Sanpetru also attended the party, and made up masks for themselves at the workshop; theen they played interactive games. Now they are all eager for the Christmas party.
The agenda included:
- Folk dances performed by the students of the middle school in Sanpetru;
- Sports competitions (table tennis, basketball and basketball shooting, volleyball, rugby, etc.);
- Animated party for children (princesses, pirates, Minnie and Mickey Mouse);
- Thematic competitions;
- Workshops (photography, drawing, painting, etc.);
- The prize awarding festivity and the closing of the event with many surprises.
